2 Replies to “Truck made of Scrapple at Reading Market”
This truck was sculpted using 32 pounds of Dietz & Watson pork scrapple. The sculptors were Ray Cline, Todd Cline, Kevin O’Neill & John Brenner. In a supporting role, Art Alexion fried up all the scrap scrapple and photographed the event. Also present were Dave Judge, Joe O’Neill and Walt Dwyer. They drank beer and watched.
Credit for the concept goes to Emma O’Neill, Kevin’s 11y.o. daughter.
Scrapple was donated by Dietz & Watson.
Ray, Thanks for all the details. The sculptures were great as was the event. I learned that one of my co-workers is planning on taking some scrapple home with her for a Philadelphia native now living in Portland, Oregon. Apparently the store she used to get it at no longer carries it, so she is getting it delivered.
I ate dinner tonight at the Reading Market and again enjoyed the lively atmosphere.
